Usually, describing and reviewing a guitar is a tricky task. One must play it, inspect it, feel its woods, contemplate it and wait until she begins to tell you who she is.  Sometimes the instrument is hard at first, sometimes you have to play it in different rooms to get an idea of its sound and capacities and sometimes you really need to spend more than a couple of weeks with it to understand its spirit. Well not this guitar!

Robert Desmond instruments are as musical and open as they get right away!  They instantly show their generous qualities. The tone of this particular model is mystic, warm, magical, enchanting and just breathtaking. The sound is robust and powerful, with excellent sustain and magnificent string separation. Every string has its personality which gives a well defined character to this orchestra.  The first string is silky and sings effortlessly while the third string could be the most complete, full and authentic we have ever played on any classical guitar.

This Desmond is a serious musical instrument by any standard. A jewel to be played on any situation but particularly on stage where it will display what it is really made of.

A sound port on the upper rim with the cutest door (and door knob!) is there to serve as a monitor for the performer. This door may be opened fully or partially giving even more control on the amount of return you need.

Mr. Desmond has chosen the best woods as always. The double Brazilian / Indian rosewood rims give that extra punch that every player is looking for.

This is a completely handmade work of art. Recommended for concertists and collectors.
